The write up is going to come in kind of backwards because that is the way I am thinking.

We are at Cove Fort. I am not sure what the historical significance of Cove Fort is but it is an historic site.  The missionaries do free tours here.  Lexie is on a tour with the kids.  I am in the trailer with Davey while he takes a nap.  There happened to be an unencrypted wifi network available from the parking lot so I took the liberty of connecting.

We stopped in Filmore.  They have a state museum there.  I didn't know that Filmore was once the capital of the territory of Utah.  It would have likely been the capital of Utah if the construction of the capitol building (which is now the museum) had been completed.  Apparently there was some problem with the funding.  There was an accusation that the $20K sent to fund the building was spent to cover church debts back east.  Brigham Young denied the accusation saying all of that and more was spent on the building.  The town of Filmore and the county Mallard were named such to butter up then president Malard Filmore.  Had Malard Filmore won his next election it is also more likely that Filmore would have been Utah's capital.  We went through kind of quickly so I missed a lot of details.  I was more caught up on details like Davey, Natalyn, DON"T TOUCH that it's over 150 years OLD!.

I didn't realize that after the Civil War there were several Presbyterian missionaries sent to Utah to convert the Mormons.  After the Civil War had settled the state's right issue of slavery polygamy became the next hot topic.  Had states won their rights it is more likely polygamy would be legal today.  Along with slavery I suppose.  Anyway I guess there may have been reasons I should have stayed awake in history class ...

The roads have been perfect.  Totally dry and not too much traffic.  We stayed at the Flying J in Nephi last night.  That worked out wonderfully.  There were already another 5 or so RV's parked there when we got there.  We simply pulled in beside them and went to sleep. Well Davey of course took a little of the simple out of things because he is used to sleeping with mom and dad.  After some bouncing around and playing with the light he finally stepped on Natalyn's hair one too many times and she gave him a swift kick.  Not the means we would like but the end was what we wanted he calmed down and went to sleep after that.

We had dinner with Katie’s Family and Lexie’s parents Friday night.

This shot was taken in Inkom.  That is a snow drift not a hill by the Suburban.  I thought the bikes looked kind of odd on top of the suburban with all of that snow.
